MP3 / WAV / Exclusive Licenses

This page describes in detail the rights granted by each type of license on beats sold by PSYCHONAUTS 808. A purchased license applies only to the beat acquired ; each beat requires a separate license.

This document applies in addition to the Terms of Sale and is referenced in any dispute relating to the use of the works.

Comparative table

1. MP3 Lease License

The MP3 Lease license allows the Client to use the beat for commercial purposes within the following limits :

• Delivered format : MP3 320 kbps (the WAV version is not included).
• Streaming up to 50,000 cumulative plays across all platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, SoundCloud, etc.).
• Paid downloads : up to 2,000 sales.
• Paid live performances : 2 maximum.
• YouTube monetization allowed on the derivative track.
• Mandatory credit “Prod. by PSYCHONAUTS 808” in release metadata and YouTube description.
• Physical distribution (CD, vinyl, cassette) forbidden.
• The beat remains available for sale to other clients (non-exclusive).

2. WAV Lease License

The WAV Lease license extends the rights of the MP3 license :

• Delivered format : WAV 24-bit / 44.1 kHz + MP3 320 kbps.
• Streaming up to 100,000 cumulative plays.
• Paid downloads : up to 5,000 sales.
• Physical distribution : up to 2,000 copies (CD, vinyl).
• Paid live performances : 5 maximum.
• YouTube monetization allowed.
• Mandatory credit “Prod. by PSYCHONAUTS 808”.
• The beat remains available for sale to other clients (non-exclusive).

3. Exclusive License

The Exclusive license is the most comprehensive form offered :

• Delivered format : WAV + MP3 + separated stems (kick, bass, melody, etc.).
• Streaming, downloads, performances : unlimited.
• Physical distribution : unlimited.
• Credit “Prod. by PSYCHONAUTS 808” desired but optional.
• The beat is permanently removed from the catalogue upon payment confirmation. No other buyer will be able to acquire it. MP3/WAV sales made prior to the exclusive purchase remain valid for the original buyers.
• Transferable to another artist under written agreement from PSYCHONAUTS 808.

4. Restrictions common to all licenses

The following uses are strictly forbidden :

• Reselling, sublicensing or redistributing the beat as-is (without significant creative modification).
• Registering the beat with a copyright collection service without declaring the co-production of PSYCHONAUTS 808.
• Using the beat for illegal, hateful, defamatory content or content contrary to public decency.
• Claiming authorship of the instrumental composition.
• Using the beat in commercial advertising, political advertising or sponsored content without prior written agreement from PSYCHONAUTS 808.

5. Originality warranty (samples)

PSYCHONAUTS 808 warrants that each beat sold is an original composition containing no uncleared or unnegotiated samples. If a beat contains a sample, its clearance with the rights holder has been obtained prior to sale.

In the unlikely event that an uncleared sample is discovered after purchase, the Client must immediately inform PSYCHONAUTS 808 at contact@psychonauts808.com. PSYCHONAUTS 808 will take responsibility for clearing the sample or, failing that, will fully refund the Client and remove the beat from all platforms where it has been distributed.

The Client remains solely responsible for samples they themselves add to the beat (vocals, additional sounds, etc.) after purchase.

6. Termination for breach

Any violation by the Client of the terms of this license — notably exceeding streaming or sales thresholds, unauthorized redistribution, failure to provide mandatory credit, or prohibited use — results in :

• The sending of a formal notice by e-mail to the buyer's address, with a 30-day deadline to rectify the situation (payment of the difference, addition of missing credit, removal of content, etc.).
• Failing rectification within this period, the automatic termination of the license, without refund.
• The obligation for the Client to immediately cease any use of the beat and remove the derivative work from all platforms where it has been published.
• The possibility for PSYCHONAUTS 808 to claim damages proportional to the prejudice (typically, the price of an Exclusive license as flat-rate compensation for threshold overruns).

7. Royalties and neighboring rights

For MP3 Lease and WAV Lease licenses, 50% of publishing royalties (copyright on the musical composition) are attributed to PSYCHONAUTS 808 as the producer of the instrumental. For the Exclusive license, publishing split is negotiated individually at the time of purchase.

Neighboring rights (master) belong to the artist for the vocal recording ; PSYCHONAUTS 808 claims no rights on the master of the final version.

8. Proof of purchase

The Client must retain proof of purchase (PayPal confirmation email and file delivery email) for the entire duration of the beat's exploitation. PSYCHONAUTS 808 may request these proofs at any time.
